JAY CHAUDHRY LECTURE SERIES
The Jay Chaudhry Lecture Series on Software Best Practices is aimed at providing industry best practices to students pursuing a career in software. It is expected that these lectures will provide better insights into real world software engineering issues, enabling upcoming graduates to be much more productive as they start their careers.
The lectures will be given by IIT (BHU) Varanasi alumni who are industry experts and academic stalwarts, and will include both senior alumni stalwarts as well as recently graduated alumni who are rapidly making a mark.

Kick-off
Jay Chaudhry is the CEO, Chairman and Founder at Zscaler, which is a computer and network security company in California. He graduated from IIT BHU from Electronic Engineering. He will be answering questions about his journey of building Zscaler.
What we wish the students knew
Raj Yavatkar is the CTO of Juniper Networks which is a computer networking products company in California. He is also an angel investor and an advisor to startups. He graduated from IIT BHU from Electronic Engineering. He will be sharing perspectives on value systems that will help you have a relatively great first year in a PhD program or in a software engineering job.
Challenges of building highly scalable systems
Kailash Kailash is the Chief Architect and Founder of Zscaler, which is a computer and network security company in California. He graduated in electrical engineering from IIT BHU in 1980. He will be discussing strategies to improve code efficiency, importance of low and high level fundas and the methodology to plan your techstack for scale up even when you are a small team.
Industry-grade Software Engineering
Hridesh Rajan is the Department Chair of Computer Science department at Iowa State University. He graduated in computer science engineering from IIT BHU in 2000. He would be doing a comparative assessment of project and product thinking, walking through the planning steps required while working in a team, metrics to assess code quality, strategies for project management and technical debt management.
