Dr. Kalyani Mohanta completed her B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering from N.I.T, Rourkela in 1999. She served as Manager (R&D) for more than 4 years during 1999-2003 at Tata Refractories Limited (TRL), Belpahar, Odisha. She completed her Ph.D from IIT,Kharagpur in Materials Science and Engineering in 2006. Dr. Mohanta joined as Reader in the Department of Ceramic Engineering, I.I.T (BHU) in 2007 and serving as Associate Professor since 2010. Her research interests are in the field of Powder Processing of Materials, Shape Forming and Fabrication of Advanced Ceramics, Composite Materials and Cermet, Foams and Porous Materials, Building Materials, Refractories, Abrasive Materials, Material-Processing-Microstructure-Properties corelation, Waste Management. Her research outcomes are in the form of journal publications, patents and sponsored projects. Recently a Start-Up based on Development of Low Cost Porous Silica for High Temperature Flow Control Devices has been granted under her mentorship.
