Dr. Ajay Pratap is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in the USA from August 2018 to December 2019. Dr. Pratap earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India, in July 2018. Dr. Pratap's research interests include a range of topics such as Cyber-Physical Systems, Statistical Learning, Algorithm Design for Next-generation Advanced Wireless Networks, Mobile Computing and Networking, Applied Graph Theory, and Game Theory. Currently, he is focusing on research related to HetNet, Small Cells, Fog Computing, smart healthcare, smart agriculture, IoT, and D2D communication underlying cellular 5G and beyond. Dr. Pratap has published papers in several international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, ACM MSWiM, etc. He has received multiple awards, including the Best Paper Candidate Award and NSF travel grant for IEEE SmartComp'19 in the USA. He was honored with the Young Engineer Award in Computer Engineering at the 36th National Convention of Computer Engineers hosted by the Institution of Engineers (India) on the 16th of October 2023. Additionally, he has been awarded the Start-up Research Grant (SRG) award by the Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), GoI, for a Sponsored Research Project titled “Resource-Optimized Fog Computing for Smart Healthcare Application in IoT-enabled Heterogeneous Networks” from 2020 to 2022.
