- You are advised to reach Varanasi at least a day before i.e. by Wednesday, October 26, 2022. You have been provisionally allotted accommodation in Aryabhatta Hostel (For Boys)/ Gandhi Smriti Chhatravas - Extension (For Girls). On arrival, you may contact the official on duty in the hostel to get your room opened. The formal allotment will be made by the Administrative Warden/Warden of the concerned hostel subject to your completing the necessary formalities.
- The IIT(BHU) and its Hostels are located in the BHU Campus approx. 3 Kms. inside from the Main Gate of the Banaras Hindu University, in total about 10 Kms. from Varanasi Cantt. Railway Station.
- You will be sharing the room with students of your batch. Each one of you will be provided with basic furniture (i.e. table, chair & cot). You are advised to bring your own mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, towels, mosquito net, lock and key, etc. This is an indicative list only and specific needs may vary. Each room is having with a ceiling fan. You are advised to bring warm clothing for use during November to January. It would not be possible for the Institute to provide accommodation to the accompanying guardians/parents within the campus. They can arrange their own accommodation in hotels/lodges in the city, details of which can be searched on the internet or as convenient.
- After confirmed allotment of seat (6th Round) you will have to complete Profile Registration for which an online academic portal will be opened from 20.10.2022 from 10.00 a.m. and be closed on 28.10.2022 by 5.00 p.m. After filling the Profile Registration Form alongwith Medical Information online and submit your academic as well as mess charge advance fee for the semester-I 2022-23. The link will be provided on the Fresher’s Information Portal as “Online Profile Registration Portal”.
- You are required to complete online profile registration as per the following procedure for the provisional admission through online only:
- You are required to login with your JEE(Advanced)2022 Roll number and enter your OTP (which will be sent on your registered mobile number as well as registered e-mail for the JEE(Advanced)-2022).
- Fill your personal information
- Upload your photo (upto 50 KB) and signature image (upto 50 KB)
- You are required to upload the self-attested scanned copy of
a) All required academic certificates (i.e. marksheets/certificate of 10th and 12th and T.C./Migration Certificate);
b) Category certificate (EWS/OBC-NCL*/SC/ST/PwD);
* also upload an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/ signed by the Parents of candidates belonging to OBC(NCL) category (download here). - Upload “Fee Remission Form” (download from institute website) along with a self-attested scanned copy of your parents’ income certificate (applicable for those students who belong General/OBC-NCL/EWS category, whose parents’ income (Gross income) is less than or equal to 5.00 lacs per annum), SC/ST/PwD category candidates are not required to upload the parents’ income certificate.
- Fill your academic information/ registration information/ medical emergency form.
- You are required to bring the following original documents along with one self-attested copy for the physical registration on October 27, 2022 provisional admission to the Institute.
- Online Profile Registration Form in duplicate.
- Printout of the final seat allotment letter from JoSAA (Final 6th round).
- Self attested one photocopy with Original of Admit Card of JEE (Advanced)-2022.
- Duly filled Medical Examination Report (Annexure 7, as per format on JoSAA website).
- Self attested one photocopy each with Original Class X (High School Board) Certificate + Mark-sheet.
- Self attested one photocopy with Originals Mark-sheet and certificate of passing the Q.E (10+2).
- Self attested one photocopy with Original Valid Certificate of category in the prescribed format (GEN-EWS/OBC (NCL)*/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by a competent authority as given on JoSAA website.
- Attested photocopy of the page in their passport that contains the name, photo and nationality (Only for foreign nationals).
- Sufficient copies of your recent passport size photographs.
- Original Migration Certificate and School Leaving/Transfer Certificate from the College/School last attended.
- Fee Remission Form (download from Institute website) alongwith self-certified copies of ‘Income Tax Return Acknowledgement’ of father and mother both or guardian (in case parents are not alive) for the financial year ended on 31st March 2022 received from the Income Tax Department. OR An Income Certificate from revenue official not below the rank of Thasildar or Magistrate class I of the area where the father and/or mother/legal guardian of the student resides. Applicable for those students (except SC/ST/PwD) only, whose family income is < Rs. 5.00 Lacs.
- The Original receipts of all payments made for Seat Allotment and remaining balance fee of e-receipt.

NOTE: An amount of Rs. 35,000/- [for GE, EWSs, OBC-NCL, and foreign students] and Rs. 15,000/- [for SC/ST/GE-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/EWSs-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD] which was paid at the time of accepting your allotted seat has been adjusted against Semester-I fee after deduction of the counselling fees of Rs. 3000/- by JoSAA, as mentioned above in the table.
- There shall be a diagnostic test for Basic English on 30.10.2022 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for those students, who scored less than 80% marks in English or for whom English was not an optional subject in the qualifying examination to test their reading, writing and comprehending abilities in English. Based on the result of the test, some students would be asked to register for “Basic English” course so that they do not face problems in understanding the lectures, as medium of instruction will be English only.
- You are advised to keep your mobile, which was registered during JEE(Advance)-2022 for completion of Fee payment process.
- Please submit an Undertaking in original, on the proforma (Form-A) regarding ragging, not going to banks of river/lake/waterfalls/ponds, use of intoxicants etc. in the concerned hostel, parties or elsewhere, not keeping/using vehicle in the concerned hostel, etc., duly completed and signed by you and your parent/guardian.
Ragging in any form is a punishable offence in IIT(BHU), Varanasi. You may further note that keeping/using of motorized 2/3/4-wheelers in Institute/hostel premises is strictly prohibited, and as per rules any student found using motorized vehicles of above type, and in hostel/University Campus shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action including expulsion. We are trying to make our campus as “Green Campus”, where your full support is solicited.
- Your admission is liable to be cancelled at any time during the course of study if:
- the candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997. Five years age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
- not passed qualifying examination as per Information Brochure of JEE(Advanced)-2022.
- candidates should be passed their respective Class XII boards, irrespective of whether they completed Class XII in 2021 or 2022. As a special case, One-time measure for those who first appeared in class 12th (or equivalent) examination in 2020/2021 AND successfully registered for JEE (Advanced) 2021 but did NOT appear.
- it is detected that you have submitted false certificates/information or have concealed facts during registration.
- You are involved in acts of misconduct/indiscipline/ragging/breach of undertaking submitted.
