  • 1990 (Dec.6-10th): (UK) Cambridge University, delivered a lecture on "Evolution of microstructural and diffraction features in complex quasicrystalline intermetallics" and interacted with students and faculty members of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy.   • 1990 (Dec.)- 1994(March): (CANADA) Department of materials science and engineering, and Institute for Materials Research, McMaster University. Involved in Postdoctoral research for 3 years with Profs. G.C. Weatherly and J.D. Embury; and delivered a series of lectures on structure and mechanical properties of new materials.

  • 1992 (May 22-30th): (USA) Department of Physics, University of Washington, St.Louis. Chaired a session and presented a paper on 'synthesis and characterization of quasicrystals in rapidly solidified Al-Fe-W alloys' at 4th international conference on 'quasicrystals', and also interacted with students and scientists.   • 1997 (May 22- June 15): (JAPAN) A paper on 'Short range and Long range ordering transformation in quasicrystals and related crystal' was presented in 6th International Conference on Quasicrystals, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, (ii) Visited University of Nagoya (UN), Himeji Institute of Technology (HIT) and Tsukuba Centre for National Research Institute of Metals (NRIM) for giving lecture and developing contacts for collaborative work with Dr. T. Ishimasa of UN, Dr.Y.Ishii of HIT, and Dr. A.P Tsai of NRIM.

  • 1999 (May 15-July 14,1999): (CANADA) Visited Brockhouse Institute for Materials Research, McMaster University, Canada as a visiting scientist for two months for exploring future collaborative Projects and interacting with the scientist, on invitation from Prof. G.C.
