I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. Prior to this, I served as a Manager in the Research and Development Department at Bajaj Auto Limited, Pune. I did my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana  with specialization electives in Mechanical Design. Subsequently, I pursued a postgraduate program at Thapar University with a specialization in CAD/CAM and Robotics Engineering. My Master’s thesis focused on the Finite Element Modelling and Analysis of FRP Composites in a Hygrothermal Environment, and I also worked as a DST Research Fellow during my postgraduate studies. Extending my research interests, I joined the Ph.D. program at IIT Delhi and obtained my doctoral degree from the Department of Applied Mechanics. My doctoral research focused on the application of smart materials as actuators and sensors at the nanoscale and on flexible manipulators.

My research interests include Smart Materials and Structures, Computational Mechanics, Nonlinear Elasticity, Piezoelectric and Flexoelectric Materials, Electroactive Polymers, Finite Element Method, Plate and Shell Theories, Mechanics of Micro- and Nano-scale Actuators and Sensors, and Asymptotic Modeling of Membranes and Plates undergoing Finite Deformations.

During my tenure at Bajaj Auto Ltd., my work revolved around R&D in the design of trims for two-wheelers, design–manufacturing integration, DFM/DFA, analysis and simulations for trims, and noise–vibration–harshness (NVH) simulations for two-wheelers. I have received several awards from IIT Delhi, international conferences, and research communities for my research contributions. I have authored 12 articles in reputed international journals and have presented my work at various international conferences and industry forums.

I also serve as a reviewer for several international journals, including the European Journal of Mechanics – A/Solids, Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part E: Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering, and Journal of Design, among others. I am a fellow of the Indian Society of Applied Mechanics and have chaired sessions at international conferences such as ICRIME. Additionally, I have worked as a project consultant for various research and industrial firms.

At Bajaj Auto Ltd., I successfully completed several research projects and guided a number of interns during their R&D internships. I was honored with the Ranking Cluster I & II Award, presented to top performers within the department.

I have been invited by several Indian universities to deliver expert talks in the field of Mechanical Design and Analysis.

For students and researchers interested in joining our group, we have openings for Ph.D. and Master’s students in the areas of smart material modeling and intelligent device design. Applicants should have a strong background in solid mechanics and prior experience with finite element software. Interest or experience in electromechanical devices is preferred.
