Dr. Joy Prakash Misra
Dr. Joy Prakash Misra (born on 15th April 1986) is presently working as an Assistant Professor (Grade-I) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Before joining IIT (BHU) Varanasi, he worked as an Assistant Professor (Grade-II) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra. He has obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Kalyani Govt. Engineering College in 2007. Subsequently, he obtained his Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2009 and 2014. He has published 01 patent, 01 book, 08 book chapters, 70 research papers in refereed journals, and 55 in reputed national and international conference proceedings. Dr. Misra is currently managing research projects amounting to more than 45 Crore. He has supervised 09 Ph.D. theses, 12 M.Tech dissertations, and multiple B.Tech projects. He is presently supervising 03 Ph.D. students. Dr. Misra also developed 03 labs: Centre of Excellence on Machine Tools Design, R N Tripathi Automation & Mechatronics Lab, and Polishing Lab. The research interests of Dr. Misra include process and machine development, machining science, advanced manufacturing processes, advanced joining techniques, optimization techniques, etc. He is also a reviewer of several reputed international journals. Dr. Misra has delivered expert / invited lectures in several institutions and chaired technical sessions at prestigious conferences. He has also organized workshops, STCs, hands-on trainings, and conferences. He is associated with several professional bodies, including the Association of Engineers (India), Institution of Engineers, India, DAAAM, Vienna, etc. In 2018, He was awarded the Young Engineer and Young Scientist Award by the Institution of Engineers and Venus International Research Foundation.
