Our group is currently working on

Medicinal Chemistry:  Our lab is working on design and synthesis of antitubercular compounds. We are targeting various component of electron transport chain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis like NADH, and Cytochrome bd. Inhibition of Mtb electron transport chain resulted in inhibition of ATP synthesis. We are also targeting mycobacterial membrane protein large (MmpL) proteins. MmpL3 is responsible for the transport of mycolic acids in the form of trehalose monomycolate (TMM).

Bioimaging: We are exploiting the potential of novel auxochromes on various dyes for improvement in the photophysical properties. Also, we check applicability dyes for cell imaging. Also, we are making fluorescent probes for detection of biomarkers.

Metal free chemistry: We are developing methods for C-C, C-N, and C-S bond formation under metal free condition.
