1. Graduated in Metallurgical Engineering in 1982 from Bengal Engineering College ( Presently IIEST), Shibpur.
2. Post-graduated in Foundry Engineering in 1984 from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
3. Doctoral degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1990 from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

a) In BESCO Ltd. , Kolkata producing Railway wagons, Bogies and CMS Crossings as a Metallurgist in R & D Division and subsequently as Deputy Manager (Quality Assurance) for six years.
b) In Hindustan Development Corporation, West Bengal a reputed steel founder, as a Superintendent (Quality Assurance) for two years.
c) In Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute, Puri, Odisha, as Acting Head in Dept. of Steel Technology for five years.
