Dr. Anshuman Sharma
I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, specializing in Transportation Engineering. Prior to this, I held a similar role at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University Institute of Technology, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, in 2013. I then pursued a Master of Technology in Transportation Engineering from IIT Roorkee, India, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Queensland, Australia, where my research focused on understanding and modeling car-following behavior in connected vehicle systems.
During my postdoctoral tenure, I worked at the University of Queensland and later at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, as a C.V. Raman Postdoctoral Fellow, gaining extensive expertise in traffic flow theory, human factors, and traffic simulation.
Beyond academia, I have practical experience as an Assistant Design Engineer at Ramboll India. Additionally, I served as a Traffic Engineering & Operations Advisor for the Advanced Mobility Analytics Group in Australia, where I worked on technology development, project management, and data analysis.
My research interests include traffic flow theory, human factors in transportation, traffic simulation, and emerging transport technologies like connected and automated vehicles. I am passionate about advancing sustainable and efficient transportation systems through innovative research and practical applications.
