Dr Bhuvaneshwari originally hails from Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. She carried out her doctoral work at CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) in the field of Electrochemistry and obtained degree from Bharathiar University in the year 2013. She was the recipient of CSIR-Quick Hire Fellowship (2010 to 2013) and subsequently appointed as Scientist (adhoc) at CSIR-SERC. Further, she worked as Senior Project Fellow in CSIR-SERC from the year 2013 to 2015. She has guided/co-guided more than 10 students from different backgrounds (MTech/MSc/BE/BTech) for their research project.

She moved to Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) in the year 2017 and started working with various departments such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering, Advanced Imaging Centre, and Material Science Programme in the capacity as Senior Project Scientist, DST-Women Scientist, Project Executive Officer, and Institute Post-doctoral Fellow. She visited Department of Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University, USA through IUSSTF Project scheme (2018-2020) (IIT Kanpur – Texas A&M University – MIT USA).  Her tenure at IIT Kanpur was completed in December 2022. Currently, She is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi.
