Professor Rajiv Prakash completed his PhD (Chemistry) in year 2000 (Working place: Tata Institute of Fundamental Reserach, Bombay) and M.Tech. in 1996 in Materials Technology with BHU Gold Medal from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.  Dr. Prakash was Scientist in IITR, CSIR Lab Lucknow for more than 7 years before joining the School of Materials Science and Technology. Presently he is Professor in Materials Science and Technology in Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. He is recipient of Young Scientist Award (UPCST), Young Engineers (INAE) Award of India, Materials Research Society, India Medal Award and recently elected as Academician of Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM). He is member advisory committee of TIFAC (DST) for India Technology Vision Plan 2035 and Editors-in-chief, Coordinator of “Polymeric and Soft Materials” under Advanced Materials Theme of IMPRINT under MHRD for Road Map 2020 and Editors of several national/international journals. Dr. Rajiv Prakash has made significant contributions in the field of organic conjugated polymers and polymer nanocomposites in general and their morphology controlled synthesis and assembly for organic devices and sensor applications in particular. He has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed international journals and having 18 patents in his credit (two technology transferred).
