I did my B. Sc. (Honours in Mathematics) and M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) from University of Calcutta. After completing my Ph. D. degree in Science from Bengal Engineering and Science University (Presently IIEST, Shibpur, W.B.) in the year 1999, I  received “Recipient of Griffith Memorial Award in Science“ from University of Calcutta in the year 2001. Presently I am working as a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, IIT(BHU). My areas of research are Mathematical Modelling, Fractional Calculus, Dynamical System, Fracture Mechanics, Porous Media. Till date I have published one hundred fifty four research articles (154) in reputed journals and I have three book chapter publications (03). The number of citations of my articles is more than Eighteen hundred (1800+), out of which two articles have been cited in the journal "NATURE" and two are in "Proceeding of Royal Society". In the  year 2017, I have filed a patent “A system and method for determination of Crack progression” (Ref. No. P.1323.IN; Application No. 201711012057; Date of filing: April 3, 2017). I had been Academic Visitors in number of universities viz., NUS, Singapore; NTU, Singapore; University  Malaya, Malaysia; City University and Hong Kong Poly. University, Hong Kong; Tokyo University of science, Japan; I attended and delivered lectures in various international conferences in USA, Japan, Switzerland, Italy, France, U.K., Scotland, Greece, China, Taiwan. I have also delivered invited lectures in conferences/workshops in various institutes in India viz., Ramanujan institute for Advanced study in Mathematics, University of Madras, NIT, Durgapur, NIT, Silchar, Jadavpur University etc. Recently, I had been in Glasgow, Scotland and London, England for participating in an international conference IWCMM28 and for an academic interaction during September 10-16, 2018. This year I had been an Academic Visitor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of South Africa, Johannesburg, South Africa during March 14-20, 2018 and also an Academic visitor in the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur during December 16-23, 2018.
I have supervised Eighteen Scholars (18) for their Doctoral Programme (17 have been awarded and 01 submitted) and Nineteen students (19) during their Post Graduate Programme. Presently, Eight Research Scholars and Two Post Graduate Students are working under my supervision. One Post doctoral student is working under my supervision in the area Dynamical system for the period of three years.
I have the experience to work as Deputy Co-ordinator, SAP, UGC. I have completed projects from the Funding Agencies like BRNS, BARC and TCS, India. I am also working as a Principal Investigator for my ongoing project tiled “Study and Analysis of Mathematical Models of Nonlinear Fractional order Diffusion Equations” approved by SERB, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. 

My institute IIT (BHU) has conferred me the “Excellence in Teaching Award” for the session 2016-17.
