IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE NEW ENTRANTS 

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic all admission and registration process will be online in the Institute and the teaching-learning process will start in online mode.
  2. After confirmed allotment of seat (6th Round) you will have to complete Profile Registration for which an online academic portal will be opened from 12.11.2020 from 10.00 a.m. and be closed on 20.11.2020 by 5.00 p.m. After filling the Profile Registration Form alongwith Medical Information online.
  3. You are required to complete online profile registration as per the following procedure for the provisional admission through online only:
  • The online registration portal shall be opened on November 12, 2020 at 10.00 a.m.
  • You are required to login with your JEE(Advanced)2020 Roll number and password with JEE(Main)-2020 application number.
  • Fill in your personal information
  • Upload your photo (upto 50 KB) and signature image (upto 50 KB)
  • You are required to upload the self-attested scanned copy of
  1. All required academic certificates (i.e. mark-sheets/certificate of 10th and 12th and T.C./Migration Certificate);
  2. Category certificate (EWS/OBC-NCL*/SC/ST/PwD);
* also upload an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/ signed by the Parents of candidates belonging to OBC(NCL) category.
  • Upload “Fee Remission Form” (download from institute website) along with a self-attested scanned copy of your parents’ income certificate (applicable for those students who belong General/OBC-NCL/EWS category, whose parents’ income (Gross income) is less than or equal to 5.00 lacs per annum), SC/ST/PwD category candidates are not required to upload the parents’ income certificate.
  • Fill in your academic information
  • Fill in your registration information
  • Fill the medical emergency form
  1. You are required to bring the following original documents along with one self-attested copy at the time of reporting in the Institute and final enrolment. Date of physical reporting will be announced later on. Till the physical verification of the documents, the offer of admission is provisional.
  1. Online Profile Registration Form in duplicate.
  2. Printout of the final seat allotment letter from JoSAA (Final 6th round).
  3. Self-attested one photocopy with Original of Admit Card of JEE (Advanced)-2020.
  4. Duly filled Medical Examination Report (Annexure 7, as per format on JoSAA website).
  5. Self-attested one photocopy each with Original Class X (High School Board) Certificate + Mark-sheet.
  6. Self-attested one photocopy with Originals Mark-sheet and certificate of passing the Q.E (10+2).
  7. Self-attested one photocopy with Original Valid Certificate of category in the prescribed format (GEN-EWS/OBC (NCL)*/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by a competent authority as given on JoSAA website.
  8. Attested photocopy of the page in their passport that contains the name, photo and nationality (Only for foreign nationals)
  9. Sufficient copies of your recent passport size photographs.
  10. Original Migration Certificate and School Leaving/Transfer Certificate from the College/School last attended.
  11. Fee Remission Form (download) alongwith self-certified copies of ‘Income Tax Return Acknowledgement’ of father and mother both or guardian (in case parents are not alive) for the financial year ended on 31st March 2020 received from the Income Tax Department. OR An Income Certificate from revenue official not below the rank of Thasildar or Magistrate class I of the area where the father and/or mother/legal guardian of the student resides. Applicable for those students (except SC/ST/PwD) only, whose family income is < Rs. 5.00 Lacs.
  12. The Original receipts of all payments made for Seat Allotment and remaining balance fee of e-receipt.
* Parents of candidates belonging to OBC(NCL) category are required to submit an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/-. The format is attached here.

# You may follow the procedure to deposit the Academic Fee : www.onlinesbi.com => Select State Bank Collect => Then click Proceed => Select State “Uttar Pradesh” and “Education Institution” => Select “Indian Institute of Technology (B.H.U.), Varanasi” => Select Payment Category “Academic Fee” and fillup the form for deposition of said fee for online deposit.

*  For those students, whose family income is < 5.00 and >1.00 lakh –1/3 of the tuition fee (2/3 exempted).
** For those students, whose family income is < Rs. 1.00 lakh – exempted from tuition fee.
Facilities will be given subject to completion of the Fee Remission Form.

Foreign nationals need to pay For SAARC countries = US $ 1000 and other countries = US $ 2000 per semester (all inclusive)

NOTE:
  1. An amount of Rs. 35,000/- [for GE, EWSs, OBC-NCL, and foreign students] and Rs. 15,000/- [for SC/ST/GE-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/EWSs-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD] which was paid at the time of accepting your allotted seat has been adjusted against Semester-I fee after deduction of the counselling fees of Rs. 2000/- by JoSAA, as mentioned above in the table.
  2. Gymkhana Fee, Festival Fee, Medical Fee, Hostel Seat Rent, Fan/Electric/Water Charges, Hostel Development Fund, Campus Services & Utility and Mess Advance Charge are not included in the Semester-I fee. If students come to campus in the future, it will be charged on a pro-rata basis.
  1. There shall be an online diagnostic test for Basic English on 22.11.2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for those students, who scored less than 80% marks in English or for whom English was not an optional subject in the qualifying examination to test their reading, writing and comprehending abilities in English. Based on the result of the test, some students would be asked to register for “Basic English” course so that they do not face problems in understanding the lectures, as medium of instruction will be English only.
  2. You are advised to keep your mobile, which was registered during JEE(Advanced)-2020 for completion of Fee payment process.
  3. When you physically report in the Institute (date to be announced):
  1. Please submit an Undertaking in original, on the proforma (Form-A), regarding ragging, not going to banks of river/lake/waterfalls/ponds, use of intoxicants etc. in the concerned hostel, parties or elsewhere, not keeping/using vehicle in the concerned hostel, etc., duly completed and signed by you and your parent/guardian.
Ragging in any form is a punishable offence in IIT(BHU), Varanasi. You may further note that keeping/using of motorized 2/3/4-wheelers in Institute/hostel premises is strictly prohibited, and as per rules any student found using motorized vehicles of above type, and in hostel/University Campus shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action including expulsion. We are trying to make our campus as “Green Campus”, where your full support is solicited.
  1. If you are receiving any medical treatment/precaution, please bring relevant prescription(s) and health/test reports with you. These will help our physicians to attend to you in case of an emergency.
  1. Your admission is liable to be cancelled at any time during the course of study if:
  1. the candidate was born before October 01, 1995 (before October 01, 1990 in the case of SC/ST/PwD candidates).
  2. not passed qualifying examination as per Information Brochure of JEE(Advanced)-2020.
  3. candidates should be passed their respective Class XII boards, irrespective of whether they completed Class XII in 2019 or 2020.
  4. it is detected that you have submitted false certificates/information or have concealed facts during registration.
  5. You are involved in acts of misconduct/indiscipline/ragging/breach of undertaking submitted.
